ANC in shock, Radebe rushed to hospital after attack on his health

The ruling party sent words to ailing Jeff Radebe after the former was rushed to the hospital.

Energy Minister Jeff Radebe has been rushed to hospital, according to parliamentary speaker Baleka Mbete.

Radebe was expected to answer questions in parliament on Wednesday.

“Honourable chief whips have been informed about the apology of the honourable Minister Jeff Radebe who was scheduled to answer questions today at 3 pm. He has had to be rushed to hospital on an emergency due to ill-health,” Mbete told parliament.

However, on  Thursday, Radebe  moved to reassure the nation that he was fine, as he revealed that it was the resurfacing of a murder during the ANC anti-apartheid struggle which contributed to his health scare this week.

In a tweet on Wednesday night, Radebe said: “Following the exhumation of the mortal remains of Ben Langa and his reburial in KwaZulu-Natal yesterday, the whole process took a toll on my health and I could not attend to various public engagements.

“I have recovered now and would like to thank everyone who was concerned about my health,” Radebe said.
