High Court orders Gupta linked Trillian to repay ill-gotten R600mn to Eskom

The High  court has ordered consulting firm Trillian to repay nearly R600-million to Eskom.

The North Gauteng high court ruled that several decisions linked to Trillian were unlawful and invalid.

Eskom said last year it will sue Trillian to recover R600-million from the firm linked to the infamous Gupta family.

Trillian was paid R698-million by Eskom in 2016 at the instruction of global consulting firm McKinsey & Company, who recently agreed to repay R902-million it earned from the utility without a valid contract.

According to details, the two companies never signed because Trillian had failed a Mckinsey due diligence, yet Eskom officials signed on a R1.8b agreement to exit the contract.  A process through which Trillian was paid a huge sum of money without a valid contract .
