The ANC recently released its list of candidates for the upcoming elections.
Some of the names, however, caused a stir because they have been linked to corruption.
Perhaps the most notable candidate is former Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba, who seems likely to return to Parliament just months after being forced to leave for lying under oath.
This follows the ANC’s announcement that it would ensure that all its candidates had records of integrity.
Gigaba, however, has been accused of mismanagement during the Zuma administration, when he allegedly helped the state capture project take place, according to The South African. Under Gigaba’s watch, massive state looting took place.
Several South Africans have expressed disappointment and even outrage over Gigaba’s inclusion on the ANC list.
