20 years for Kimberley paedophile

Rudolph Coetzee (23) was handed a 24 year sentence in the Northern Cape High Court on Wednesday.

He has been convicted on 45 charges including rape, sexual assault, attempted rape and manufacturing of child pornographic materials involving local children between the ages of three and 12.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Olebogeng Tawana said in a statement, He has been handed 24 years on 5 counts of rape, 10 years on 16 counts of sexual assault, 8 years on counts of attempted rape and 10 years for manufacturing children pornography.”

He continued, “The sentences shall run concurrently, and Rudolph will serve effective 24-years behind bars”.

Rudolph has been clinically diagnosed as being a paedophile, where he is sexually aroused by prepubescent children.

Rudolph has been in custody since his arrest on May 2014.

At the time of his arrest, police confiscated various images pornographic manufactured material showing children naked and engaging in sexual acts.

The images were confiscated from Rudolph’s personal computer during raid and search on his home which he used as his photographic studio.
