Letlabika named Bafana captain

The 26-year-old Bloemfontein Celtic utility man will lead the troops in the first of two legs against Angola at Rand Stadium.

“It’s a privilege to lead the team. It’s not going to be easy. We need to win our home game,” said Letlabika at a SAFA press conference.

Thabo Senong has been training the team but says head coach Shakes Mashaba will take over once he returns from Central America.

“Mashaba is still the head coach. He will be on the bench guiding us. All decisions are taken in consultation with him,” said Senong.

“We need to understand the dynamics of the CHAN tournament. The NFD is on and it’s difficult to get players.”
